Welcome to the 13 Days of Halloween
Today has been a helluva day and it looks like the fun won’t be ending any time soon. For this reason, today’s post in the 13 days will be quick and easy. When you see what I’ve whipped up for dinner, some of you may ask: “Why the hell bother posting at all?” To which I’ll respond: “Pipe down cheese tits!” This retort will quickly be followed by an explanation that is quite insightful and brilliant: “Everyone has crazy, busy moments in their lives, but that doesn’t mean you have to stop the fun. As you’ll see when we get to the dinner section of the post, you can still have a successful day in the 13 without a lot of fuss and prep. They quick and dirty and the kiddos love’em. I call these days “commercial breaks”, the interruptions to our regularly scheduled program.
In this post:
- Halloween Commercials
- Song of the Day
- Tonight’s Movie
- Dinner, Beverage, and Dessert
The following Halloween commercials have been chosen because the Internet and I say they’re kick ass.
Whoever came up with this commercial had to have been stoned out of their mind!
One word–invisible. Bahahaha!
I love killer dude’s reaction when the head of his ax goes flying.
The Grady twins!! Forever and ever and ever . . . guh!
This one is so gross (I hate spiders), and yet, too funny.
What? No dip? Poor Frankie, lol.
The best Halloween commercial in the history of all of them–right here.
Song of the Day
It’s got a really good beat and you can dance to it.
These movies quickly became favorites in my house. My daughter loved watching them every year. And now, her daughters love to watch them too.
Dinner, Beverage, and Dessert
Like I said in my intro, sometimes life gets crazy, but that doesn’t mean you have to put a hold on your agenda. You simply need to improvise so you can make it happen and not go bat shit crazy in the process. As you’ve seen so far, a lot of prep work and hand’s on shizz goes into making these dinners. Some nights, there simply isn’t the time or energy to make that happen. That’s when a dinner like what I’m about to show you comes in handy and the kiddos will still love it.
- Tombstone pizza
- Compost tea
- Halloween cookies
As you can see in the photo, I still managed to bring a little spooky fun to the table. I used cookie cutters to make shapes with cheddar and mozzarella slices. The cookies have orange chocolate chips as well as the brown and the compost tea is simply your favorite brand of tea. And there you have it, a Halloween meal that isn’t a deal breaker on those extra busy days.
Here are some pictures from past Halloweens for a little Throwback Thursday.
Until tomorrow . . .
